We are a couple of sixty-ish folks who enjoy art, photography, hiking, camping and a variety of other outdoor activities this site is intended to document and share the adventures we have and perhaps inspire retirement age as well as younger folks to get out there and find it what ever it is.
In October we traveled to southern Utah's Canyonlands Needles District and enjoyed a couple of hikes and some awesome rain. We hiked the slick rock loop trail and the pothole point trail. We also completed a day hike out to Chesler park.
A very short hike around some large sandstone blocks sitting on a pothole filled shelf of sandstone we were there during a rainy day so all the potholes were filled to overflowing.
A moderate hike out across a slick-rock wedge between a couple of canyons. It had rained all day so both canyons were flowing briskly with a load of muddy water.
Some little photo adventures close to home.
We made our second ice pile trip in late January and the ice had started to pile up, however, a recent snow storm had put a light velvety coating on the ice blocks....we go back.
Rhonda and I drove down to Lincoln Beach hoping that some lake ice had started to pile up on shore. It was a beautiful evening but the Ice was barely starting to do its thing so we made a plan to come back.
We spent two nights with our little cactus flower Aliner in the campground at Arches National Park and enjoyed several Hikes including the Firey Furnace and Fifth Avenue and the favorite but crowded Delicate arch trail.
We made a couple of trips to the sand dunes for night and sunrise photography.....cold cold nights!
